To see a painting by Sharon Achtyes (rhymes with matches)is to know of her love for the mountains of our great country. She remembers how delighted she was as a child to discover the mountains for the first time, when her family moved to Colorado from Chicago.
Sharon has developed her own unique style and technique using both painting knife and brush which results in heavily textured work in oils. Details are abundant in her somewhat romanticized but realistic art.
Over seventeen-hundred of her paintings are included in collections across the United States and abroad and she has been represented in Winters Galleries and other fine art establishments since 1980.
