Joanie and her husband Jerry divide their time between the couple's home in France, their home and 12 businesses south of Chicago, and their Fine Art
Gallery in Carmel, California. In 2004, Joan was awarded the National Ronald Reagan Entrepreneur Gold Medal.
Joanie has spent her entire life involved with, and studying, Fine Art. Her mother, who painted all her life, taught Ioanie the basics. Joan has a natural and discerning eye for what is good and what is
sheer genius. In the last three decades Joanie has personally guided and helped develop the careers of many of the areas finest painters.
She has curated and exhibited numerous shows during that time. The Winters first full gallery opened in 1980, featuring the work of Lynn and Roberto Lupetti. Joan was asked by the late S.C. Yuan's
widow, to mount a large One-Man-Show-the first major exhibition, after the painters untimely death.
Jerry Winters, Carmel's Favorite Folk Artist, and Joanie's husband, credits Joanie for getting him on the road to a very exciting and successful career.
